For personal repairs Wheaton has contracted with CBE Technologies of Boston, MA to do hardware repairs on all personally-owned systems. Wheaton does not repair hardware on personally-owned computers.
If your computer's hardware equipment computer needs to be repaired you should come to the LIS Technology Support Center and have them check to see if it is a hardware or software problem. If it is determined that is is a hardware problem they will give you the name and number of CBE. You should then contact CBE directly to schedule your repair. If it is a software problem we may be able to assist you in correcting it.
For warranty repairs, you should have your proof of purchase with you prior to the appointment with the repair vendor. If your system is still under warranty, we recommend you call the vendor's technical support help line before you arrange to have CBE look at it. CBE will charge you labor even if the repair is under warranty.
CBE will charge $100.00 for the first hour and $75 per hour there after. This fee must be paid prior to the scheduled appointment; you should be prepared to leave a credit card number with them when you schedule your appointment. If the repair will take more than one hour, or parts are required, CBE will contact you directly to obtain approval for the repair. CBE accepts cash, credit cards and money orders. CBE DOES NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS. On average, there will be a three to five day turn-around time for repairs. Software incompatibility issues and viruses are NOT warranty items.
