An internship is a well-supervised, short-term work experience that introduces you to a specific career field and/or connects with your academic pursuits.
Why take on an internship?
An internship is a great opportunity to learn the realities of a workplace, to experience real world applications of issues studied in the classroom, to preview a potential career, to enhance and develop skills, and to build your resume. Reflecting on your internship will allow you to identify your likes and dislikes, discover your strengths, identify settings that might provide the best "fit" in the future, and develop appropriate "next steps" concerning course choices and additional internship possibilities.
